Connect With Your Audience Pt .: 4 :.
This post is part four in a series of posts on what I believe to be some elements of healthy communication. From our weekend gatherings to casual conversations, these elements are what I use to engage the students that God has allowed me to pastor.
A great way to connect with your audience is to be “multi-sensory.” Using multiple senses is engaging you audience with more than just their ears. For example: If you’re telling them about a mission trip that is coming up, have them sample food from the country you’ll be going to. If the story is of Jesus in the desert, turn up the heat in the room. Got it? Now, don’t be lame, but think about ways to connect more than their ears to the message.

Sup boyeeeee? I go back and forth on this. What if we put so much time into offering multi sensory stuff that we put less time into the message being communicated? I mean aren’t the words, the message, the most important factor so therefore shouldn’t we put everything we got into the communication of the message itself? Or another thought, what if our efforts to use multi-sensory stuff just distracts from the message? Just some thoughts brother.
